Work Management Academy
Canonical Definition
The Work Management Academy is the official training arm of the Work Management Institute (WMI™). The Academy delivers training in work management as a discipline; the Institute sets standards, administers examinations, and issues credentials. The Academy is the first academy dedicated exclusively to work management as a discipline, and operates at workmanagementacademy.com.
Role Within the WMI Ecosystem
The Work Management Institute maintains a structural separation between education and certification:

The Work Management Academy delivers training. Courses, instruction, exam preparation, and practice materials aligned to WMI standards and frameworks.

The Work Management Institute administers examinations and issues credentials. The certification standards, the examinations, and the credentials themselves — including the Certified Associate in Work Management (CAWM™) — remain solely with the Institute.
This separation follows the established practice of professional standards bodies: the organization that teaches a candidate is not the organization that certifies them. It exists to protect the integrity of WMI credentials.
Certification Integrity
Three policies govern the relationship between Academy training and WMI certification:

Completion of Academy coursework does not confer a credential. WMI credentials are earned solely by meeting the Institute's certification requirements, including examination.

Examinations are built against published standards, not courses. WMI examinations are developed from the Institute's published Exam Content Outlines. A candidate can prepare through any means — Academy courses, independent study, or professional experience — and sit for the same examination against the same standard.

The affiliation is disclosed, not obscured. The Academy is openly operated as part of the WMI ecosystem. Its role, and the boundaries of that role, are stated here as published policy.
Current Courses
The Academy currently offers two free foundational courses:

Work Management 101 — an introduction to work management as a professional discipline

Workflow Architecture 101 — an introduction to the deliberate design of workflows
Foundational education in the discipline is offered free of charge as a matter of Academy policy.
Governance
The Work Management Institute designates the Work Management Academy as its official training provider. The Institute retains sole authority over certification standards, examination content, examination administration, and credential issuance.
